How much does a website cost in the UK?

Short answer

A focused small-business website in the UK, designed and built properly, usually sits between £790 and £3,000. Ecommerce starts higher. A mobile app is a different job and should not be compared line-by-line with a five-page site.

If you have been quoted £8,000–£25,000 for a brochure site, you are paying for a studio’s overhead, account management and a process designed for larger clients. That work can be excellent. It is not the only way to get a professional site.

What you are actually buying

Price should follow scope. A homepage-only page on a builder is not the same as service pages, location copy, a contact and callback flow, technical SEO, and a handover.

Why quotes vary so wildly

Agencies staff for retainers. Freelancers on marketplaces race to the bottom and often disappear. In the middle is a small studio that does senior work without a floor of producers. That is the gap we occupy.

VAT, photography, copy and paid ads are often missing from the first number you see. Ask what happens after launch. A cheap site that you cannot change is not cheap.

What still is not worth saving on

Hosting that is actually yours, redirects from the old site, mobile layout, and a contact method that arrives. Saving £200 by skipping those is how projects come back six months later.
